  • 1 1/2 c. unpopped corn
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Pop the corn.

    Melt margarine, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt.

    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then let boil 5 minutes without stirring.

    Remove from heat.

    Stir in baking soda and vanilla.

    Gradually pour over popcorn, mixing well.

    Turn into large roaster and bake in preheated 250° oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

    Remove from oven and turn onto some heatproof surface to cool.
