- 2 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 lb. oleo
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 6 qt. freshly popped popcorn
Directions

1In a 2 1/2-quart saucepan, combine ingredients (except soda and popped corn).

2Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.

3Boil rapidly to hard ball stage (about 5 minutes).

4Remove from heat. Stir in soda quickly, but thoroughly; pour over popcorn at once in larger pan.

5Stir until all kernels are coated.

6Bake in oven for 1 hour at 200°, stirring every 20 minutes.

7Turn out onto waxed paper; allow to cool.

8Store in tightly covered container.
