Caramel Corn

Ingredients

  • 10 qt. popped corn
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 cubes margarine
  • 1/2 c. Karo syrup
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Boil brown sugar, margarine, Karo syrup and cream of tartar for 5 minutes.

    Stir in soda and vanilla.

    Add syrup to popcorn (I use a large metal bowl).

    Bake in metal bowl at 250° for about 1 hour.

    Stir occasionally.

    After it has cooled, if it is sticky, bake for a short while longer.

    Should be crunchy when done.
