- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 c. milk
- 3/4 c. light cream
- dash of salt
- vanilla ice cream
Directions

1In a heavy skillet over medium heat, carmelize (melt) 1/3 cup sugar until it becomes an amber colored liquid.

2Gradually pour in boiling water and stir until sugar dissolves.

3Chill in a mixing bowl, beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored; add 2 tablespoons sugar.

4Gradually add milk, beating at low speed.

5Add light cream, salt and caramelized sugar.

6Beat at low speed until all ingredients are combined.

7Pour into serving glasses and top each with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
