- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 1 c. firmly packed light or dark brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. milk or cream
- 2 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- additional milk or cream (as might be needed)
Directions

1Melt margarine or butter.

2Blend in brown sugar and salt. Cook over low heat 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add milk and continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil.

3Remove from heat.

4Gradually blend in confectioners sugar.

5Add vanilla and mix well.
