- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix brown sugar and milk.

2Stir until the sugar is dissolved, then boil without stirring to the soft-ball stage (238° on candy thermometer).

3Add butter.

4Remove the icing until it is thick and creamy.

5If the icing becomes too thick, thin it with a little cream.

6Makes enough to frost 2 (9-inch) layers.
