- 14 oz. pkg. light caramels
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan. Combine in heavy saucepan first 2 ingredients.

3Cook over low heat stirring constantly until caramels are melted.

4Keep warm. Combine in large bowl remaining ingredients except chocolate chips.

5By hand stir until dough holds together.

6Press 1/2 dough into pan.

7Bake for 6 minutes.

8Sprinkle chocolate chips and caramel mixture over cooked dough.

9Then sprinkle rest of dough over that.

10Bake 15 to 20 minutes.

11Cool thoroughly.

12Makes 3 dozen.
