  • 8 oz. popped corn
  • 1 (1 lb.) box brown sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • pinch of cream of tartar
  • 1/2 lb. peanuts
  • 1/2 tsp. soda

Directions

    Cook sugar, margarine, syrup, salt and cream of tartar hard for 5 minutes.

    Add soda.

    Mix well.

    Work quickly.

    Pour over popped corn.

    Spread out on cookie sheets.

    Bake for 1 hour at 200° in buttered cookie sheets.

    Stir occasionally.
