  • 3 qt. popcorn
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 2/3 c. red skinned peanuts

Directions

    Remove old maids from popcorn and keep warm in a 250° oven while syrup is cooking.

    Combine butter, brown sugar, salt and corn syrup.

    Bring to boil and cook 5 minutes.

    Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and soda.

    Pour syrup over popcorn and nuts. Stir mixture gently to mix.

    Then separate out and pour on 2 large baking sheets and place in oven at 250° for 1 hour.

    Stir every 15 minutes.

    Store in airtight containers.
