  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. oleo
  • 2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. nuts

Directions

    Put sugar, salt and corn syrup into a large pan; bring to a boil and boil to firm ball stage, 245°, stirring occasionally. Gradually add milk and butter slowly, so that the mixture does not stop boiling at any time.

    Continue to cook rapidly, stirring constantly to medium ball stage, 242°.

    Remove from heat; add vanilla and nuts.

    Stir well.
