  • 1 c. oleo or butter
  • 1 lb. (2 1/4 c.) brown sugar
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 (15 oz.) can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
  • dash of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Melt butter.

    Add brown sugar and salt; stir until mixed. Slowly add milk, stirring constantly.

    Cook and stir over medium heat until candy reaches 245° (about 12 to 15 minutes).

    Remove from heat.

    Stir in vanilla.

    Pour into buttered 9 x 13-inch pan. Cool and cut.

    Wrap in wax paper.
