- 1 c. warm water for yeast
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 lb. margarine
- 4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. Crisco
- 1/4 c. caraway seed
- 1/2 c. warm milk
Directions

1Cut shortening into dry ingredients.

2Add caraway seed (or one cup currants).

3Mix well.

4Make well in center.

5Pour sponge into well and mix lightly as for bread.

6Use more warm milk if necessary.

7Let rise again until doubled in bulk and form into buns.

8Let buns double in bulk.

9Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes.
