- 12 sliced carrots
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 small minced onion
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
- 2 c. milk
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. celery salt
- 1/2 lb. sharp American cheese
- 3 c. fresh buttered bread cubes
Directions

1Cook carrots and drain.

2In butter, cook onion 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in flour, salt and mustard, then milk.

3Cook, stirring until thick and smooth.

4Add pepper and celery salt.

5In casserole, arrange layer of carrots and cheese; repeat, ending with carrots. Pour sauce over carrots.

6Top with bread cubes.

7Cook for 25 minutes at 350°, uncovered.
