Ingredients

  • 15 lb. catfish
  • 3 (No. 2) cans tomatoes
  • 15 lb. potatoes
  • 10 lb. red onions
  • 3 large, hot peppers
  • black pepper and salt to taste
  • 1/2 c. shortening

Directions

    Cook fish until well done; drain water off of fish.

    Set aside to cool.

    Peel and cut potatoes, onions and peppers.

    Put tomatoes in blender and blend well.

    Cook peppers, onions, potatoes and tomatoes until well done.

    Take fish off bone.

    Add to soup mixture.

    Add black pepper, salt and shortening.

    Heat until this comes to a boil, stirring occasionally.

    Reduce heat; simmer until blended.
