- 3 lb. stew meat (1-inch cubes)
- 1 stick oleo/butter
- 1 small bunch celery (2 c.)
- 1 medium onion
- 1 green pepper
- 1 small bunch carrots
- 5 medium potatoes
- 1 pkg. onion soup mix
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 heaping Tbsp. m.s.g.
Directions

1Brown meat in oleo over medium heat.

2Cover with water and cook 45 minutes.

3Add celery, pepper, carrots and onion.

4Cover with water and cook 1 hour.

5Add potatoes, cover and cook 1 hour.

6Test for seasoning.

7Add onion soup and cook 20 minutes.

8Add m.s.g. and more water, if needed.

9Never cook fast.

10Requires 4 hours of cooking on slow or simmer.

11Serves 8 to 12.
