Celery Au Gratin

- 4 c. celery, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 c. chopped almonds
- 2 Tbsp. melted margarine or butter
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
- 3/4 c. bread crumbs
- pimentos to taste
Directions

1Simmer celery in boiling water for 5 minutes.

2Celery should be firm, not soft.

3Drain.

4Saute almonds in melted margarine. Mix with soup in saucepan and heat until bubbles form.

5Stir in 1/4 cup grated cheese.

6Add celery and almonds.

7Pour into casserole.

8Top with bread crumbs and remaining cheese.

9Add pimentos to taste.

10Bake for 20 minutes in oven that has been preheated to 325°.
