  • 3 c. diced celery
  • 1/4 c. slivered almonds
  • 1/2 c. water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1 (4 oz.) can drained sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. chicken broth
  • 3/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 3/4 c. half and half

    Cook celery in small amount boiling water until just tender (about 5 minutes).

    Drain.

    Combine celery, almonds, chestnuts and mushrooms.

    Pour into greased baking dish.

    Melt butter; blend in flour.

    Cook 1 minute.

    Cook until thickened.
