- medium to large cucumbers
- cold water
- celery or slices of onions
- dill
- 2 c. vinegar
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. water
- 1/3 c. salt
Directions

1Take medium to large cucumbers.

2Cut lengthwise.

3Soak several hours (3 to 4) in cold water and then drain.

4Use either celery or slices of onions with as much dill as you wish, or dill can be used alone.

5Pack in jars.

6Heat vinegar, sugar, water and salt.

7Boil well.

8Pour over pickles hot.

9Drain; reheat and pour over pickles again.

10Seal.

11This juice is enough for about 2 quarts.

12Sometimes, I do not drain the juice; heat and pour over pickles again.

13The pickles turn out great and this recipe using celery and dill has been passed on to many people.

14Use hot water bath until pickles turn color.
