  • 1/2 c. water
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 c. sliced almonds
  • salad oil (for deep frying)

Directions

    Place first 4 ingredients in 2-quart saucepan.

    Bring mixture to full, rolling boil over high heat.

    Add flour all at once. Remove from heat.

    Stir until mixture forms a ball and leaves sides of pan.

    Beat in eggs, one at a time, until mixture is smooth and shiny.

    Add cheese; stir to blend.
