Cheese Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf round bread (sour dough, whole wheat; unsliced)
  • 3/4 lb. Swiss cheese slices
  • 2 Tbsp. grated or minced onions
  • 1 Tbsp. poppy seed
  • 1/2 tsp. Beau Monde
  • 1/2 lb. butter, softened
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard, prepared
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seed
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice

Directions

    Mix together butter, onion, mustard, seeds, seasoning and lemon juice.

    Slice bread but leave bottom intact.

    Put slices of cheese in each cut of bread.

    Slice opposite direction so you have small squares.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Spread butter mixture over top of bread.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

    Cheese should be melted and bread should be golden.
