  • 1 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 lb. grated or finely shredded very sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/4 lb. margarine, melted
  • 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring

Directions

    Sift dry ingredients and toss in grated cheese.

    Beat eggs until mixed and stir in milk.

    Add to dry ingredients.

    Stir in melted margarine and butter flavoring.

    Bake in greased pan at 425° for about 25 minutes or until brown.
