Cheese Grits

  • 7 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 8 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • cayenne pepper
  • 1 3/4 c. quick grits (not instant)
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1 jar Cheese Whiz
  • garlic powder

Directions

    Pour grits into boiling water.

    Add grated onion and salt. Cook 2 to 5 minutes as directed on grits box.

    Add oleo, Cheez Whiz and Cheddar; season to taste with garlic powder and cayenne pepper.

    When mixture has cooled slightly, add 2 eggs, beaten. Can be served as is, or baked in oven until bubbly.
