Cheese-Pimiento Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. soft shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. grated sharp cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. pimiento
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

    Scald milk and cool.

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    In large mixer bowl, pour milk and water mixture.

    Add 1 1/4 cups flour, shortening, sugar, salt and egg.

    Beat one minute.

    Add cheese, pepper, pimiento and 1 cup flour; mix.

    Beat one minute, spoon in prepared muffin tins and let rise until double in bulk or about 1 hour.

    Bake at 400° about 15 to 20 minutes.

    Rolls may be frozen.
