- 1/4 lb. grated cheese
Directions

1Melt butter in a heavy 1-quart saucepan.

2Slowly add flour and simmer until well blended.

3Very gradually add milk and simmer until sauce has thickened.

4Add grated cheese and stir until sauce is smooth and cheese has melted.
