- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 1 Tbsp. melted butter
- 3/4 c. stock or stock substitute
- 2 c. milk
- salt and paprika to taste
- 3/4 c. grated American cheese
Directions

1Saute onion in butter for 3 minutes.

2Stir in flour until well blended.

3Stir in slowly the stock or stock substitute.

4When the sauce is smooth and boiling, add milk.

5Heat soup but do not boil. Add and stir until melted the grated cheese.

6Add salt and paprika.
