- 6 c. cut up squash
- 1 c. cold water
- few drops lemon juice
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 c. margarine
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
Directions

1Arrange squash in greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan so squash are no more than 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick in pan.

2Mix water and lemon juice.

3Pour over squash.

4Sprinkle with cinnamon.

5Make topping by combining sugar, flour, salt and margarine.

6Work with fork to form a crumbly mixture.

7Mix in grated cheese.

8Cover top of squash with topping and press down hard.

9Bake at 350° (325° glass pan) for 45 minutes or until light brown.

10Broil for 5 to 10 minutes to brown top for crispness, careful not to burn.
