  • 1 lb. Cracker Barrel sharp cheese (red foil wrapper)
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. plain flour, unsifted
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper or cayenne pepper

Directions

    Grate cheese and butter.

    Mix in flour, salt and pepper to form a soft dough.

    Using the small star design of a crank-type cookie press, press the individual cheese straws onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 350° until straws are hard.

    If cheese straws spread out too much when cooked, add a little more flour for a firmer dough.
