- 1 lb. Cracker Barrel sharp cheese (red foil wrapper)
- 1 stick butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. plain flour, unsifted
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper or cayenne pepper
Directions

1Grate cheese and butter.

2Mix in flour, salt and pepper to form a soft dough.

3Using the small star design of a crank-type cookie press, press the individual cheese straws onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 350° until straws are hard.

4If cheese straws spread out too much when cooked, add a little more flour for a firmer dough.
