- 1 (1 lb.) block sharp Cheddar cheese
- 3/4 stick margarine
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- paprika
Directions

1Let cheese and margarine soften overnight at room temperature. Mix together until blended.

2Gradually blend in flour, salt and cayenne pepper to form a soft dough.

3Fill cookie press with dough.

4Using the star design, form 2-inch straws on an ungreased cookie sheet.

5Bake at 350° for 12 minutes.

6Remove from oven; sprinkle with paprika.

7Cool on paper towels.

8Makes 6 to 7 dozen.
