Ingredients
- 2 c. plain flour
- 1 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 stick (1/4 lb.) oleo or butter (mine was with butter)
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper (I usually add a tad more)
Directions

1Sift flour before measuring.

2Add baking soda, salt and red pepper.

3Sift two more times.

4Grate cheese and butter.

5When soft enough, add flour a little at a time and mix all ingredients well. (I put cheese and butter in microwave on defrost for just a few seconds to help soften.)

6You can use a pastry utensil or work it with your hands to mix.

7Put through cookie press and bake at 350° for about 15 minutes or until brownness desired.

8Makes approximately 90 to 100 straws about 3 to 3 1/2 inches long.

9(I used cookie press disc with a star-like shape.)
