Cheesy Beef Pie

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 1/2 c. diced green pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce with mushrooms
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded mild Cheddar, divided
  • 1/2 c. Commercial sour cream
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 (5 oz.) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

Directions

    Saute beef, green pepper and onion in a skillet until meat is done.

    Drain well on paper towels.

    Return to skillet.

    Add tomato sauce and seasonings.

    Combine 1/2 cup cheese, sour cream and egg; mix well and stir into meat mixture.

    Spoon into an 8-inch baking dish.

    Split biscuits and place on top of meat mixture.

    Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Sprinkle pie with remaining cheese during the last 10 minutes of baking.
