Cheesy Bell Peppers

Ingredients

  • 6 medium green peppers
  • 1/3 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. uncooked rice
  • 4 oz. sharp cheese
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 lb. can tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp. catsup

Directions

    Cut off tops of peppers and clean out.

    Precook peppers by boiling in salted water for 5 minutes.

    Sprinkle the inside with salt.

    Saute in a skillet the beef and onions.

    Drain off fat and add other ingredients.

    Cover and simmer until tender, about 15 minutes.

    Grate cheese.

    Add to meat mixture.

    Stuff peppers and top with catsup.

    Set upright in oblong Pyrex dish.

    Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
