  • 1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. white cake mix
  • 1 1/4 c. rolled oats, divided
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, divided and softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 (20 oz.) can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed

Directions

    In a bowl combine cake mix, 1 cup of oats and 6 tablespoons butter or margarine; mix until crumbly.

    Reserve 1 cup for topping.

    With remaining crumbs, add egg and mix well.

    Press into greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

    Spread pie filling over crust. To reserved crumbs add remaining butter or margarine, oats, nuts and brown sugar.

    Mix thoroughly.

    Sprinkle over pie filling. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.

    Cut into bars.
