- 8 oz. maraschino cherries
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Drain and chop cherries, reserving juices. Add enough water to reserved juice to measure 1 cup. Combine butter, sugar and egg in bowl.

2Beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with cherry liquid, mixing well after each addition. Stir in nuts and cherries.

3Spoon into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350° until loaf tests done.
