  • 3/4 cup sugar, divided
  • 3 Tbsp. MINUTE Tapioca
  • 3/4 cup water

  • 4 cups fresh dark sweet cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup all-purpose baking mix
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup PLANTERS Sliced Almonds

    Heat oven to 375F.

    Reserve 2 Tbsp.

    Mix remaining sugar and tapioca in large saucepan; stir in water and lemon juice.

    Bring to boil.

    Add cherries; cook 2 min., stirring frequently.

    Pour into 8- or 9-inch square baking dish sprayed with cooking spray.

    Mix baking mix, reserved sugar and cinnamon in medium bowl.

    Add milk; stir until mixture forms soft dough.

    Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto hot fruit mixture; top with nuts.
