- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 stick butter (at room temperature)
- 1 c. confectioners sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. freshly ground lemon peel
- 1 can cherry pie filling
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease an 11 x 7-inch pan.

3Mix flour and baking powder.

4In large bowl, beat butter and confectioners sugar with mixer until fluffy.

5Beat in egg and lemon peel.

6With mixer on low speed, gradually add flour mixture.

7Remove 2/3 dough.

8With floured fingers, pat remaining dough over bottom of pan.

9Spread pie filling over dough to edges of pan.

10Roll reserved dough into 1-inch balls.

11Flatten slightly and place evenly on pie filling. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

12Cool in pan. Dust with powdered sugar before cutting.
