  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. old fashion oatmeal
  • 4 c. fresh frozen cherries
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 2 c. flour
  • butter
  • 4 Tbsp. cornstarch (approximately)

Directions

    Mix together brown sugar, flour and oatmeal with enough melted butter to hold it together when pressed in your hand.

    Press 3/4 of mixture into greased 13 x 9-inch pan.

    Bake 10 minutes at 400°. While baking, thicken cherries with cornstarch and flavor with almond extract.

    Layer cherries onto crust and sprinkle with remaining crisp.

    Bake 20 minutes at 400°.

    Serve with whipped cream.
