- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
- 2 (1 lb. 5 oz.) cans cherry pie filling
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Cut butter into dry cake mix until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.

3Reserve 1 cup mixture.

4Pat remaining mixture lightly into ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch oblong pan, building up 1/2-inch edge.

5Spread pie filling over cake mixture to within 1/2-inch of pan edge.

6Mix walnuts and the 1 cup reserved mixture; sprinkle over top.

7Bake 45 to 50 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

8Serves 12 to 15.
