  • 4 c. graham crackers, rolled fine
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. butter, melted
  • 1 qt. of 2 cans sour cherries
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 5 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 5 egg whites
  • 3/4 c. sugar

Directions

    Melt butter; mix crackers, 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.

    Pat 3/4 cup in bottom and sides of large buttered pan.

    Mix cornstarch and 1 1/4 cups sugar.

    Add to cherries.

    Cook until thick and clear. Pour over crumb mixture in pan.

    Beat egg whites until stiff; add 3/4 cup sugar.

    Spread over cherries.

    Cover with remaining crumb mixture and bake 35 minutes at 375°.
