- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 3/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 16 oz. maraschino cherries, drained and chopped fine
- 1 c. pecans, chopped fine
Directions

1Beat butter and sugar together. Add egg and vanilla. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; mix well.

2Then add to butter mixture. Pat cherries between paper towels to remove excess moisture. Stir cherries and pecans into dough. Cover and chill 2 hours. Shape dough into 11/2 diameter, 8-inch long rolls. Roll in colored sugar, if desired.
