Ingredients
- 3/4 c. milk
- 3/4 c. plus 1/16 c. farina breakfast cereal
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. ground almonds or hazelnuts
- 6 eggs, separated
- cinnamon to taste
- 1/2 lemon rind, grated
- 2 lb. cherries (canned or pits removed)
Directions

1Combine milk, sugar and farina, stirring frequently.

2Heat until thickened just to boiling point; don't boil.

3Let mixture cool.

4Beat egg whites until stiff.

5Beat egg yolks into cooled milk-farina-sugar mixture.

6Add cherries, almonds or hazelnuts, butter and cinnamon to mixture.

7Add egg whites to mixture.

8Put in buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.

9Bake at 375° for 1 hour.

10Serve with cream or whipped cream.
