Cherry Lemonade

  • 5 cups water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 (16-ounce) package frozen pitted dark sweet cherries
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (about 9 lemons)
  • 2 tablespoons grenadine

Directions

    Combine first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 3 minutes. Pour into a bowl; chill at least 1 hour or until cold.

    Strain mixture through a sieve into a pitcher; discard cherries. Stir in lemon juice and grenadine. Serve over ice.
