- 3 cups cherries, pitted and stemmed (about 1 pound), plus extra for garnish
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 8 lemons)
Directions

1Using a juicer or food mill, juice cherries.

2Reserve juice.

3In a small saucepan, bring sugar and 1 cup water to a simmer.

4Cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves.

5Pour syrup into a pitcher, and add 1 cup cherry juice, 1 cup lemon juice and 2 cups water.

6Chill until thoroughly cold, at least 2 hours.

7Serve over ice, garnished with 2 cherries.
