  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. melted shortening
  • 3/4 c. chopped cherries (fresh or canned)

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients and sift.

    Combine eggs, milk, cherries and shortening.

    Add to flour mixture, stirring only until mixed. Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full and bake in hot oven (425°) for 20 to 30 minutes, according to size of muffin.
