- 1 lb. dates, chopped
- 1 lb. pecans or walnuts (4 c.)
- 1/2 lb. red and green cherries
- 1/2 lb. red and green pineapple
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Put sugar over the nuts and mix well.

2Beat eggs and mix with vanilla.

3Sift flour and baking powder.

4Mix all together well, using your hands or a good strong wooden spoon to mix.

5Grease and flour tube pan well.

6Bake 1 1/2 hours at 300°.

7Put a pan of water on bottom shelf of oven.

8This will help to keep it from turning too brown and drying out.

9Let set a few minutes before turning out but don't let it get cold, for it will stick.
