  • 2 c. cherries
  • 1 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • pie pastry

Directions

    Mix sugar with cornstarch and salt.

    Add cherries and cook in saucepan until mixture comes to boil; add butter.

    Line pie pan with pastry.

    Add cherry mixture and cover with strips of pastry. Bake in a moderate oven about 350° until golden brown.
