  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • juice from 16 oz. can cherries (red, pitted and sour; reserve cherries)
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
  • 1/3 Tbsp. margarine

Directions

    Over medium heat mix first seven ingredients until thickened. Pour cherries into unbaked crust.

    Add sauce.

    Dot with margarine. Cover with top crust or lattice.

    Bake in a preheated 425° oven for 30 to 35 minutes.

    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
