Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 cans pitted pie cherries (not pie filling)
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla or almond extract (optional, I don't use)
  • 2 pie crusts for 9-inch pan

Directions

    Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and pie cherries.

    Cook, stirring until mixture thickens and boils.

    Stir in butter and extract, if used.

    Pour into pastry lined 9-inch pie pan. Cover with top crust.

    Seal the edges.

    Bake at 425° until crust is brown.
