- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/3 stick margarine
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 (16 to 20 oz.) can cherries, drained and pitted (save liquid)
- 3/4 c. sugar

Directions

1Cream the sugar and margarine together. Add the next 3 ingredients.

2Pour into a 9 x 9-inch greased baking dish.

3Mix drained cherries and sugar.

4Pour over batter in dish.

5Dot with margarine and pour boiling cherry juice (add enough water to make 1 cup).

6Bake 45 minutes at 400°.

7Delicious with vanilla ice cream.
