Cherry Sangria

  • 1 1/2 tbsp packed brown sugar
  • 1 packages (12 ounces) frozen sweet cherries (divided)
  • 1/2 cup kirschwasser
  • 1 bottle (750 milliliters) Pinot Nior, chilled
  • 1 packages (6 ounces) blackberries
  • 1 orange, halved and thinly sliced
  • 1 ice cubes
  • 1 fresh basil leaves
  • 3 cup Cherry 7Up, chilled

Directions

    Place half the cherries, the brown sugar and kirschwasser in a large pitcher.

    Stir and toss until sugar is dissolved.

    Stir in wine, blackberries and orange.

    Chill for at least 2 hours.

    Just before you serve it, stir in Cherry 7Up and remaining cherries.

    Serve over ice.

    Gently bruise the basil leaves with your fingers to release aroma.

    Add basil to glasses.
