  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. maraschino cherries
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Add eggs.

    Mix dry ingredients and add to sugar mixture.

    Add milk and mix well.

    Add vanilla, cherries and nuts.

    Mix well.

    Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 375° until done.

    Cookies can be rolled in cornflakes before baking.
